Feedback Helps Us Better Support You
The Champion Fiberglass team was thrilled to receive feedback from the field recently. We heard success stories, tool recommendations, resource suggestions and even received some photos of Champ™. We value your opinion. It helps us in developing effective resources to assist your customers along the sales journey. Here’s what some of you said:
Tony Rowe of Desert States reported some exciting projects including a Microsoft data center. He called out J Miller and Barry Williams of Champion as invaluable resources in quickly turning around quotes, availability, expedites and drawings. “Desert States is off to great start this year and we owe that success to Champion Fiberglass support and products,” explained Rowe. He also mentioned that the quick ship program has received orders.
“I believe that our continued hard work with contractors and end-users is really paying off. This year we have about $300,000 in sales and another $400,000 out in quotes,” said Rowe. Way to go Desert States!
In Canada, Milham Industries has supplied Champion fiberglass conduit, elbows and accessories to many overpasses and hydro substations throughout British Columbia. “I have noticed that the recent trend is to continue specifying only Champion conduit, elbows and accessories instead of DBII,” wrote Fred Reichard of Milham Industries.
Matt Fredericks of UMUS reported on a variety of projects. He elaborated, “Champion Fiberglass conduit, conduit bodies, and elbows were used in the Hamline University (St. Paul, MN) steam tunnel instead of metallic conduit by a contractor who had never used RTRC before. They were installing it at chest or ceiling height and were pleased with its light weight and easy installation.”
Fredericks noted trends in the Midwest, including transition from overhead to underground power distribution and communications/fiberoptic engineering firms inquiring about fiberglass conduit. UMUS has had success with one firm, Finley Engineering, specifying fiberglass conduit more frequently because of a positive experience on a job using fiberglass conduit and expansion joints for fiberoptic cable along a bridge for Souris River Telephone.
George Weissinger with AERO Sales has observed an increase in fiberglass elbows over steel elbows in stub-up applications. He’s witnessed specifying of fiberglass conduit as a long-term solution to the corrosive effect of the pickling process used in the manufacture of steel conduit.
Finally, Lee Hutchins of Hozack has won more jobs lately specifying fiberglass conduit. He’s seeing it now as the preferred product in many projects. Hozack has also furnished elbows for a Microsoft data center.
Within this feedback there were suggestions for tools like an adhesive calculator and recommendations for improved messaging around Flame Shield® and options for mechanical seal. Thanks to you, we’re addressing these ideas, and we’ll update you in future issues of ChampMag.
